Happy Birthday, Mickey Mouse! ** Open Give Away!

Happy birthday, Mickey Mouse!!!

We dedicated our latest video to Mickey Mouse with a fun balloon pop video! The balloon was filled with cool toys for the kiddies!

On November 18, 1928, Mickey Mouse made his debut tin the USA in his classic carton short, Steamboat Willie. I don’t think anyone understands the magnitude of this short. Silent films were what was happening during the coming of age of film, and “talkies” or films with sound were few and far between. A favorite of mine, Sunrise: A Song of Two Humans, was really one of the first talkies, along with Al Jolson’s classic The Jazz Singer. However, The Jazz Singer’s acclaim stood out more for his actual singing parts, and the whistling -pristine and crisp sound for a silent era. F.W. Murnau’s Sunrise is a silent film with pre-recorded sound, but the film itself is absolutely beautiful and breathtaking. It was the success and sound of The Jazz Singer that caught Walt Disney’s eye, and he was determined to create the first talkie cartoon with synchronized sound. You may also notice in Steamboat Willie that there is a whistling sequence like Al Jolson’s performance in The Jazz Singer.

Back to the Mouse and the man who brought him to life, Walt Disney. Disney released Steamboat Willie after a few failed cartoons, so the success of Steamboat Willie was in fact a big surprise, and really, the rest is history. Mickey Mouse is the first love of all children, especially my son. M-Tubey’s face would absolutely light up when he watched Mickey walking over that hill in the Mickey Mouse Clubhouse on Disney Junior.

Mickey Mouse is an icon in American culture, and throughout the world! He deserves to have a balloon pop every day for bringing so much joy and happiness to our kids’ lives! Thank you, Walt Disney, for bringing this little figment of your imagination to life, and allowing us to be apart of the magic!

Happy birthday, Mickey Mouse, and many, many, many more!
